Wine Description
Delicate and harmonious in certain respects, and powerful and robust in others, this is a demanding, complex, elegant wine. Its grandeur shows through already just a few months after bottling, and gradually increases as the flowery aromas of its youth give way to ethereal spices, chocolate and truffle.
"Extremely floral and pretty with roses, light plums and light, fresh herb character. Full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and a long, light spice and vanilla aftertaste. Lots of new wood."

"From the prime spot on Ceretto's Bricco Rocche hill, this intense young Barolo balances classical elegance with generous weight. Tannins blanket the dark fruit, holding the middle of it in an iron porcini-scented grip. Then there“s a moment when the structure seems softer, as if expanding after an initial contraction. The wine itself seems to breathe in and out, on one taste accessible, impenetravbe the next. The Ceretto brothers first bottled this cru in 1982; their 2001 should thrive in the cellar for two decades or more."
